OUR FEATURED ARTISTS
WES WAUGH
Watercolor Artist
Wes Waugh is a Boone artist, juror, workshop instructor and presenter. Originally from Statesville, NC, he has been painting since the age of 12 and is currently recognized as one of the southeast region’s leading landscape watercolorists. Wes’ best known work is landscape oriented and typically dominated by bold watercolor washes and the use of a variety of surfaces chosen to best reflect the nature and essence of his subjects. Being a lifelong outdoor enthusiast greatly contributes to the direction of his subject material as images collected over years of backpacking, canoeing and fishing excursions often form the base from which new paintings evolve.
JANE MILLER
Custom Portraits
Jane Miller is a native of North Carolina as well as a year round resident of Beech Mountain. Her love of art, the outdoors and nature gave her the desire to learn to paint. Her medium is oil on linen and she considers herself a realistic artist.
GALE CHAMPION
Watercolor & Alcohol Ink Artist
Gale's paintings are imagined, designed and created in both a representational, realistic style as well as an abstract/impressionistic style. She is known for her detail in her representational watercolors, her unusual webbed backgrounds in her contemporary watercolors and her abstract/impressionistic alcohol inks. Her three styles and two mediums combine for a unique and fascinating combination of art. Her skill in combining color, shape, light, value and composition are reflected in her immense joy of creating something of beauty to share with her viewers. Many of her paintings are inspired by the natural beauty of our state since she is fortunate to split the year living between eastern and western North Carolina. She was born in Asheville, NC, and has a BS and MA degrees from Appalachian State University.
